Accountability

Transparency and trust.

Who we legally are, where your money goes, and how to check any of it for yourself without taking our word for it.

Who we legally are

AILE Foundation Corp. is a nonprofit corporation registered in the United States and recognised by the Internal Revenue Service as tax exempt under section 501(c)(3), effective 11 June 2026. Our EIN is 42-3070865. The IRS classifies us as a public charity under section 170(b)(1)(A)(vi), not a private foundation. Our determination letter is published below in full, exactly as the IRS issued it.

Check us yourself

You do not have to believe a page on our own website. The IRS keeps a public register of every tax exempt organisation in the country. Search it for our EIN, 42-3070865, and you will find us listed independently of anything we say here.

Where your money goes

Gifts are spent in three places: food and nutrition, school fees and scholarships, and humanitarian aid for families in crisis. Our team in Lubumbashi buys locally and pays schools directly, so a gift becomes food from a Congolese market or a fee paid at a Congolese school rather than a shipping container. When you choose a designation at checkout, we hold your gift to that purpose.

What we have not published yet

We were granted charitable status in June 2026, so our first full financial year is still running. Our first IRS Form 990, our first annual report, and our audited programme and administrative expense ratio will be published on this page as soon as they exist, which we expect by the end of 2026. We would rather tell you they are coming than show you numbers we cannot yet stand behind.

Children, photographs and consent

Every child in our programmes is photographed and written about only with the consent of their parent or guardian. Our team collects that consent in person, in the family's own language. We do not publish a child's full name, school and photograph together, and we will remove any image at a family's request without asking why.

Your rights as a donor

You receive a receipt by email for every gift, showing our legal name, our EIN, the amount and the date, and confirming that no goods or services were provided in exchange. You can cancel a recurring gift at any time by emailing us, and we will refund a mistaken donation in full if you tell us within 30 days.

Questions or complaints

If anything here is unclear, or if you are unhappy with something we have done, write to contactus@ailefoundation.org and it will reach our founder directly. We answer within two business days.
